Dzikri Mahesa Al Ghifari, a student of the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology (TRKI) D4 Program at the Vocational School of Universitas Diponegoro, has consistently excelled since his early semesters. He won 1st place and two 2nd place titles in national scientific writing competitions and became a semifinalist in an industry problem-solving contest. To strengthen his technical expertise, he completed training in process simulation using Aspen HYSYS, enhancing his competence in integrated industrial system design.

In his research, Dzikri focuses on developing bioplastics from palm oil empty fruit bunches (EFB), using gluten as a natural binder and epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) as a plasticizer. The project aims to create biodegradable packaging as an alternative to conventional plastics while utilizing biomass waste from the palm oil industry. His work not only addresses plastic waste issues but also promotes sustainability through renewable materials.

Beyond research, Dzikri gained practical experience through an internship at SV UNDIP’s biodiesel plant, where he was actively involved in production, quality control, and renewable energy-based waste management. Core chemical engineering practicums, such as chemical operations, reactor kinetics, heat and mass transfer, and process instrumentation, further strengthened his analytical and technical skills. His dedication has resulted in two registered Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in applied technology. Outside of academics and research, Dzikri engages in social activities and student organizations. He has volunteered in beach clean-up programs and served as Head of the Social Affairs Division in his student association, leading various community service and environmental education initiatives. These experiences reflect him as an innovative, socially aware engineering student committed to delivering real solutions for both society and industry.
