The Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology (TRKI) study program at the Diponegoro University (UNDIP) Vocational School is committed to producing graduates with broad competencies in the field of chemical engineering, who not only understand technical aspects but also have a deep understanding of safety, health, environmental sustainability, and professional work ethics.
The educational vision implemented by TRKI encompasses four main graduate profiles:
- To become professionals skilled in industrial chemical engineering technology by applying the principles of safety, health, and environmental sustainability.
- To possess strong leadership qualities and the ability for continuous development.
- To have the capacity for self-improvement thru advanced education in engineering and applied sciences, both nationally and internationally.
- To be able to innovate and become technopreneurs who create digital technology-based products.
By introducing Outcome Based Education (OBE), the TRKI Study Program at UNDIP has integrated an educational system that combines the concepts of the Dual System and Digital Teaching Factory, preparing students to face rapid developments in the global industry. This learning also focuses on developing creativity and communication skills thru advanced technology, which requires students to be active and independent in their learning process.
According to Dr. Mohamad Endy Julianto, S.T., M.T., as the Head of the TRKI Study Program, the majority of TRKI graduates have successfully entered the industry, pursued further education at the Master’s or Doctoral level, and some have chosen the entrepreneurial path. Many of them continued their studies abroad, such as in Germany, the UK, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan.
One of the alumni who has shown outstanding achievement is Qurrotun A’yuni Khoirun Nisa’, better known as Ayuni, who is currently pursuing a postdoctoral program at Pukyong National University, South Korea, in the field of polymer engineering. Ayuni revealed that her achievement is inseparable from the dedicated guidance she received from the lecturers at UNDIP and the moral support provided by her classmates.
Ayuni revealed how important the education system implemented by the TRKI Study Program at UNDIP was in shaping her, both academically and in terms of character. According to him, by integrating the 9 Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLO) and using the Dual System, as well as gaining direct experience thru the Teaching Factory, he is better prepared to continue his studies abroad. Ayuni also added that the practical experience in the miniplant and the research conducted with the lecturers have provided very valuable skills for further studies abroad.
During this journey, I am deeply grateful to the lecturers, educational staff, friends, and all parties at UNDIP who have supported me. “I hope to make a greater contribution to the field of global research and innovation,” said Ayuni with gratitude.
