Ilyas Rabbani Devanda, a student from Diponegoro University’s Vocational School in the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology (TRKI) program, has made remarkable contributions to the development of environmentally friendly technology. Not only that, but Ilyas has actively engaged in green technology development by conducting research across various fields.

In pursuit of his dreams, Ilyas has conducted various studies to support the global transition from outdated technologies to modern ones. One such initiative is his research on the extraction of aromatic compounds using microwave technology. This method is a step forward in the development of green technology—why is that so?

Microwave extraction is a technique that separates active compounds using electromagnetic waves. This method is considered environmentally friendly because it requires fewer solvents, reducing chemical waste pollution, it is energy-efficient as the electromagnetic waves effectively extract active compounds, and it has a short processing time, thus lowering energy costs.

“Innovation is not just about new technology; it’s about new ways of thinking that create remarkable solutions to old challenges,” said Ilyas.
