Ilyas Rabbani Devanda, a student from Diponegoro University, Vocational School, Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology (TRKI) Study Program, made an outstanding contribution to the effort to realize environmentally friendly technology. In an effort to achieve his dream, Ilyas has conducted various types of research to help the world system transition from old technology to modern technology. One of the efforts that has been made is to conduct research on the extraction of aromatic compounds using microwave technology. This method is one of the efforts in the development of green technology, why is that?
Microwave extraction is a method of separating active compounds using electromagnetic waves. This method is believed to be environmentally friendly because it requires less solvent, thus reducing chemical waste pollution; it is highly energy-efficient because the interaction of electromagnetic waves can extract active compounds; and the short processing time reduces energy costs.
“Innovation isn’t just about new technology, but about a new way of thinking that creates extraordinary solutions to old challenges,” said Ilyas.
