The carnival organized by Diponegoro University on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, is part of the activities for the 67th Dies Natalis of UNDIP. This year’s carnival theme is “Food Security and Poverty Alleviation.” Participants and their groups gathered at the starting line from 1:30 PM, with the route starting from Dipo Hub – Widya Puraya – to the Prof. Dharto Building. The assembly point for the vocational school carnival participants was at the Lobby of Building A, SV Undip Tembalang, at 12:13 PM. The carnival attributes included: decorative flowers (kembang manggar) of 2-4 pieces, a mountain of vegetables on a pickup truck, drumline instruments, bass drums, and other musical instruments, even using old or damaged gallons as instruments. Male participants wore striped shirts, black pants, and cardboard hats, while female participants donned kebaya with batik skirts or shawls and cardboard hats.
This carnival attracted the attention of many students from various faculties and study programs. It was not just a celebratory competition, but also aimed to strengthen camaraderie and family spirit among the academic community of Diponegoro University. The TRKI team, mostly composed of students from the BBDPKS Sawit program (a collaboration class with the palm oil scholarship), delivered a performance full of energy and creativity. With engaging choreography and spirited chants, the team successfully impressed the judges and the audience. Their performance created a lively atmosphere that added to the festive spirit of the Dies Natalis carnival. “Our preparations were not in vain, and this result is the fruit of the hard work of all team members. We hope to continue participating and giving our best in various campus activities,” said the representative of the Sawit students.
This year’s Dies Natalis celebrations at UNDIP were designed with a variety of activities, such as the UNDIP RUN, art performances, seminars, a carnival, and other competitions involving all campus elements. The event provided students with an opportunity to showcase their talents and abilities beyond academic fields. The participation of TRKI students in this carnival further enhances the positive image of the Chemical Engineering Technology program as one that excels not only academically but also actively engages and succeeds in non-academic activities.
