Rofik Wahyu Hidayat, a student of the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Study Program at the Vocational School of Diponegoro University, won third place in the Diploma Program category in the Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres 2024). The final was held offline at Gorontalo State University on July 24-28, 2024. Pilmapres is a student competition organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center, National Achievement Center, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia and takes place annually. The aim is to give awards to the best students who are ready to become agents of change to build a better Indonesia. The final was attended by 31 students from 28 participating universities.
Dean of SV Undip Prof. Dr. Ir. Budiyono, M.Si said that he was very grateful for Rofik Wahyu Hidayat’s achievement. The reason is, in addition to bringing a good name to Undip, it will also be an example and inspiration for other students to support Undip’s progress and benefit the nation and state. The event was closed by the Expert Staff for Talent Management of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Tatang Muttaqin, S.Sos., M. Ed., Ph.D. On that occasion, Tatang Muttaqin said that this event was an extraordinary achievement for the participants who entered the 2024 Pilmapres. They are at the best level and the best students in Indonesia. “You are talents who will be winners in your fields. Not only social, academic and portfolio abilities, but all lines,” he explained.
According to Tatang, talent development is one form of developing activities on campus. So that students can be trained in their fields. Producing hard skills and soft skills that have a positive impact on the wider community. “Pilmapres participants are exemplary students who can be followed by other students. So that their actions have an impact on the good of others. This competition gives them the ability as participants for conservation. Also as a platform for encouragement to excel and set an example,” he explained.
Rofik Wahyu Hidayat, a 6th semester student, also gave his impressions and messages during the selection process until he succeeded in bringing home the championship. According to him, he is proud and happy to be able to bring the name of Undip, especially the vocational school as a Diploma category in the 2024 Pilmapres in Gorontalo, it is certainly not easy to achieve this position. But with hard work and strong belief, especially belief in yourself, that is what will lead us to success. His message to fellow Vocational friends and all Undip students is to keep fighting until one by one your dreams come true, maybe we will never know which dream God will make come true first, but at least we can plan which dream we will achieve first. Enthusiasm for everyone for a strong Vocational strengthening Indonesia.
