The current developments in the industrial sector are getting faster and more inevitable. This happened in line with the industrial revolution 4.0 where the digitalization of all industrial sectors changed a new paradigm. Responding to this challenge, the Department of Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Vocational School of Diponegoro University collaborated with industrial experts to fill the gap between industry and academia. Through the transfer of knowledge from industrial experts, students are expected to be able to quickly adjust and adapt to current industrial needs.
Mohamad Endy, the head of study program explained that collaboration between study programs and industrial experts is expected to accelerate the transfer of knowledge and technology to students. “We really hope that this collaboration can continue and invite great practitioners in the field of industrial chemistry to participate in preparing the students to be ready to face changes in this industrial sector,” he said.
One industrial expert who has collaborated with the Department of Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Vocational School of Diponegoro University was Ir. Tjoek Oedowo, MH. He is a Practitioner as well as the Main Director of PT. Wealthindo Putrapramesti Perkasa has experience as a Consultant for Compiling Documents for Controlling Major Hazard Potentials in two Chemical and Petrochemical companies. Currently Tjoek Oedowo teaches Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) with various implementations such as Hazops, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Bow Tie, What If. Furthermore, Tjoek Oedowo added that the purpose of this PHA is to prevent and avoid failure of a process and evaluate it so that catastrophic incidents such as large fires, explosions and the release of toxic gases that threaten employees and surrounding residents can be avoided.
