The Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Study Program participated in the Expo Food Festival in collaboration between the Undip Vocational School and PT. Sriboga Flour Mill. This Food Festival activity presented 50 tenants consisting of 39 tenants of food and beverage products and 11 tenants from Undip vocational school entrepreneurs including from the TRKI study program. In this activity, the TRKI study program also displayed products resulting from the research and development of TRKI lecturers and students.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Undip Vocational School, Prof. Budiyono explained that vocational schools must indeed collaborate with the world of work and industry. Prof. Budiyono added, in this vocational school there are three paths. That is the path after school looking for work, the second after finishing will be an entrepreneur and the third will continue to study. “And those who want to become entrepreneurs have provided a bridge because in lectures they are required to take entrepreneurship courses,” he said at the opening of the food festival at the Imam Barjo Auditorium in Semarang.

In addition, there is also an entrepreneurship grant program. Every year the Undip Vocational School grants 100 young entrepreneurs. “They prepared a business plan and it will be funded and the results are one of them being included in this food festival. So that with UMKM participating, these student entrepreneurs can interact and are expected to be able to collaborate,” he said.

Prof. Budiyono gave an example of collaboration that can be done by MSMEs and students, when MSMEs need help in terms of making good financial management, vocational school students can help. Vice versa, if students want to develop MSMEs, they can collaborate with existing MSMEs.
