Magelang–Independent Learning Program Campus Merdeka or called it by MBKM is a program launched by the Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim which aims to encourage students as high-quality graduate student resources. Merdeka Campus opens wide avenues for students to be able to develop according to the interests and expertise of each student. Students can choose the courses they will take in outside their college. Furthermore, students can also take different courses in the same study program at different universities and take courses in different courses at different universities.

To prepare the Independent Learning curriculum, the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Department, Vocational College of Diponegoro University held a curriculum planning and course design workshop on 20-21 October 2022 which was held at the Atria Hotel, Magelang. This activity was opened by the Vice Dean II of the Vocational College of Diponegoro University, Dr. eng. Vita Paramita. In her remarks, the Vice Dean II of the UNDIP Vocational College highly appreciated this workshop, through this activity lecturers and staff can prepare the MBKM curriculum well and answer the challenges ahead in order to preparing high-quality human resources. After the opening by the Vice Dean II of the Vocational College, the workshop continued with the presentation of the MBKM Curriculum by the Head of the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Department, Endy Yulianto, M.T. and his team.

This workshop received direct assistance from LP2MP UNDIP. In this case Prof. Setia Budi Sasongko explained the strategics about how to develop the MBKM curriculum to be more effective and have a significant impact on college program for students and stakeholders. Therefore, during the workshop, the TRKI study program also invited alumni who have a lot of experience in the industry to provide input regarding the ideal curriculum for the study program.

Then continued the presentation of the first material on “Digitalization of the TRKI Curriculum to welcome the 2022 MBKM” by Dr. Novi Heryono, S.T., MT and Tjoek Oedowo, S.T., M.H. Then followed by the second material on “Preparation of TRKI HR to become UNDIP COMPLETE Graduates (Communicator, Professional, Leader, Entrepreneur, Thinker and Educator) by Sunarno, and the third material on “Preparation of the TRKI Student Final Project according to SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure)” by Ir. Jahnawi Tri Wasisto, M.BA. After the presentation of the material from the four resource persons, continued discussions, evaluations, coffee breaks, and closing of the workshop activities by the Chair of the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Study Program.
