Student Community of TRKI Vocational College UNDIP Held Training Process Simulation Software “Aspen HYSYS” Digitally

The Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Student Association (HMTRKI) Vocational School of Diponegoro University which was initiated by the Research and Science Division held an annual event on the Hysys Software Simulation Training Process which was attended by all TRKI students. This event was chaired by Arien Bella Saputri (TRKI 2021). With the theme, “Improve your HYSYS Skills for Post-Pandemic Era Recovery,” it was held online and held in 3 meetings, namely on 3 September 2022, 4 September 2022 and 17 September 2022.

This Hysys Software Process Simulation Training is an engineering software capable of simulating a series of processes in a factory that uses chemicals. This event was guided by a reliable speaker, namely Mr. Denny Firmansyah to help TRKI students in learning the science of Software Hysys. This event was attended by TRKI students, especially the Class of 2020. This event was fully supported by the campus with the hope of creating a reliable engineer for the future.

The aims of this event include:

• Participants will be given the knowledge and understanding to master and apply a chemical process simulation software
• Participants will be trained to be able to think analytically and creatively to solve problems in a chemical industrial process and can create and test the validity of simulation models
• Provides a basic understanding of Heat and Material Balance calculations using the HYSYS Simulator
• Knowing the tools in the HYSYS steady state simulator HYSYS and their use in Process Systems or Utilities.

The following is the material presented in each meeting :

Day 1 (Saturday, 3 September 2022) :

1. VLE (Vapor Liquid Equilibrium): Dew Point &Bubble Point
2. Refrigerated Plant in Natural Gas Processing: Dew Point Control Unit
3. Rankine Cycle: Steam Power Plant

Day 2 (Sunday, 4 September 2022) :

1. Distillation Column: Propylene & Propane
2. Advanced Distillation Column: Extractive Technology
3. Simple Case of Absorber
4. Refrigerant Close Loop System
5. Ammonia Close Loop System

Day 3 (Saturday, 17 September 2022) :

1. Sweetening Natural Gas Processing by Amine Solution System
2. Example Case of CSTR Reactor: Ethylene Glycol Plant
3. DME (Dimethyl Ether) Plant with PFR Reactor
