Semarang, May 26 – Diponegoro University (UNDIP) proudly marks another international achievement through one of its outstanding students, Farhan Gimnastiar Maslihan, from the Applied Bachelor Program in Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology (TRKI) at the Vocational School. Farhan successfully passed the highly competitive selection process and earned a golden opportunity to participate in the Taiwan International Internship Pilot Program (IIPP), initiated by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC).

This prestigious internship program will take place at Chang Gung University, Taiwan, where it brings together talented students from around the world to engage in cutting-edge scientific and technological research. Farhan will be focusing on membrane technology research, a field that plays a crucial role in advancing sustainable energy and environmental protection.

Farhan is no stranger to academic and extracurricular excellence. He is widely recognized as a dynamic young talent with active involvement in academics, community service, research, and youth development. In 2024 alone, Farhan has secured nine Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and patents, covering innovations in alternative energy and even traditional batik design with local characteristics.

His scientific achievements have also gained recognition on international platforms. He presented his work at the INSPINSA conference, showcasing an eco-friendly detergent innovation titled “Development of Anti-Bacteria Liquid Detergent Using Muntinga calabura Leaf Extract and Lipozyme Enzyme for Enhanced Foam Stability.” This innovative project led him to be selected for Batch 6 of the Merdeka Internship Program (MSIB) by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).

As a young researcher, Farhan actively contributes to international scientific journals and frequently speaks at national educational and student forums. He has also received national research funding through prestigious programs such as PKM Riset Eksakta (PKM-RE), Pertamina Foundation’s Desa Energi Berdikari, P2MD, and the Vocational Young Entrepreneur Program.

Farhan’s versatility extends beyond academics. He has excelled in the arts and culture, winning 1st Place in the Diponegoro Art Competition’s Poetry Reading Contest and Honorable Mention at the Central Java Student Arts Week.

In student organizations, Farhan currently serves as Head of Research and Scientific Affairs at the Vocational School Student Executive Board (BEM SV UNDIP) and is also active in the TRKI Student Association. His industrial internship experience includes placements at PT Kaltim Methanol Industri, PT Pertamina RU VI, and PT Semen Gresik Rembang.

Thanks to his consistent dedication and innovation, Farhan has caught the attention of national media and inspired many students across Indonesia. Through his commitment, he demonstrates that vocational students can also excel globally and make meaningful contributions to society.
