The year 2024 has been a meaningful period for Malika Pintanada Kaladinanty, a student of the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology (TRKI) Program at the Vocational School of Diponegoro University (UNDIP). Gaining admission through the Potential Student Selection Admission (PSSB) in 2022, Malika has shown her strong commitment to innovation and sustainability through a series of impressive accomplishments.
With solid academic knowledge and a deep sense of social awareness, Malika won first place in the Social Technology Innovation for Community Challenge hosted by PT Kilang Pertamina International, Refinery Unit III Plaju. She earned this achievement thanks to her sensor-based MINAPADI innovation, which has positively impacted the community in Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. Additionally, she received funding from the Ormawa Membangun Negeri (POMN) program under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, and was selected for the KPP Mining Youth program by PT Kalimantan Prima Persada.
Malika has also excelled in innovation development recognized through patents and intellectual property rights. Among her registered works are patents for an aromatic instant coffee nanoemulsion development method (S00202414012) and a pH sensor tool integrated with a water level sensor for agricultural systems (S00202410023). She also holds two registered IPs for instant coffee nanoemulsion production (EC002024229843) and a controlled theaflavin delivery system using encapsulation (EC002024230735).
Collaboratively, Malika played an active role in the biodiesel miniplant project at SV UNDIP, focusing on renewable energy development. She also serves as Head of Research and Science at the TRKI Student Association (HMTRKI), promoting an academic culture of innovation and creativity among students.
Malika noted that UNDIP has provided an enriching academic environment, particularly through faculty research and projects on carboxymethyl cellulose and encapsulation. She also developed strong time management skills, critical thinking, and built a network of professionals that support her future career.
In her reflection, Malika emphasized the importance of education as the foundation for youth success. She also highlighted the significance of joining organizations that genuinely support personal development, noting that not all organizations serve that purpose effectively.
In an interview, she advised young people that education and organizational involvement are both crucial. “Education equips us with the skills to achieve a bright future, while organizations shape us into leaders with integrity. However, choose organizations that truly support your personal growth,” said Malika.
With unwavering dedication and spirit, Malika continues to be an inspiring figure, demonstrating that innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand to drive meaningful change for the future.
