Proud: TRKI SV UNDIP Lecturer Gives Guest Lecture on Circular Economy at RWTH Aachen, Germany

Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, S.T., Ph.D., a lecturer in the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Study Program at the Vocational School of Diponegoro University (UNDIP), recently gave a guest lecture at RWTH Aachen, Germany, on Friday, April 4, 2025. This activity is part of the Theodore von Kármán Fellowship program, which is organized at IME – Metallurgische Prozesstechnik und Metallrecycling, Institut und Lehrstuhl der RWTH Aachen.
In the guest lecture, Anggun presented the topic “Circular Economy Opportunity for Indonesia and How Universitas Diponegoro Takes Part in It.” The material presented was warmly received by the academic community of RWTH Aachen, which was followed by a highly interactive discussion session.

Anggun explained how the implementation of the circular economy is developing in Indonesia and the active contribution of Diponegoro University in supporting this initiative. He also affirmed that the principles of the circular economy are aligned with the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The discussion was very dynamic, with participants interested not only in the topic of the circular economy in Indonesia but also in the various academic activities available at UNDIP.

As a result of this discussion, the guest lecture participants expressed interest in academic collaboration with UNDIP. They were interested in participating in the summer course program, visiting as visiting professors, and conducting research collaborations with relevant faculties. Additionally, the possibility of developing a joint Center of Excellence between RWTH Aachen and UNDIP was also discussed.

Anggun, who also serves as Deputy Director of Cooperation at the Directorate of Innovation, Downstreaming, and Cooperation at UNDIP, welcomed this cooperation opportunity. The next step, further exploration of this international collaboration, will be coordinated with the Directorate of Reputation, Partnerships, and Global Connectivity at UNDIP, led by the Vise Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication, Mr. Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D.

In order to realize UNDIP’s vision of becoming one of the Top 500 World Universities, various international cooperation potentials will continue to be enhanced, both in the academic field and in the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education. This guest lecture concluded with a discussion on the preparations for the implementation of the International Community Service program, which will be jointly carried out by IME RWTH Aachen and UNDIP.
