UNDIP TRKI Students Win Two Gold Medals at the 2024 Semarang City KONI Cup Shorinji Kempo Championship

Dewa Made Arjuna Ararya, a student from the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology (TRKI) Study Program at Diponegoro University (UNDIP), achieved a brilliant feat by winning 2 medals at the 2024 Shorinji Kempo National Open Championship, held at the Imam Bardjo Auditorium, UNDIP Peleburan campus, Semarang, from October 25-27, 2024. The 2024 Shorinji Kempo National Open Championship is a prestigious event for Shorinji Kempo martial arts athletes from various regions in Indonesia. This event not only features exciting competitions but also showcases the fighting spirit and unity among athletes who have trained hard to achieve success. The 2024 KONI Semarang City Shorinji Kempo Championship was held with great fanfare and was attended by dozens of athletes from various clubs and universities across Indonesia.

In this Championship, Dewa successfully won 1st place in the Men’s Pair Embu Kyu 2-1 category, as well as 2nd place in the Men’s Randori 60 Kg Class category. Dewa’s success is inseparable from the hard work and intensive training he underwent in preparation for those competitions. According to Dewa, this achievement is the result of the perseverance and discipline he applies in every aspect of his life. “I always try to manage my time between studying and training, because I believe that both can be balanced. “In sports, just like in the academic world, commitment and passion are needed to keep improving,” said Dewa. This shows how TRKI UNDIP students can excel not only in academics but also outside the classroom, proving that the quality of UNDIP students is not solely reflected in their academic grades.

The achievements of Dewa also have a positive impact on the overall image of Diponegoro University. “Dewa’s achievements provide a concrete example that UNDIP students have the potential to excel in various fields, not just academic ones. This is certainly a source of pride for all of us, as it further emphasizes that UNDIP is a campus that produces graduates ready to compete, both in the professional world and in non-academic activities,” added Mohamad Endy. It is hoped that the success of Dewa Made Arjuna Ararya can serve as an inspiration and motivation for other TRKI UNDIP students to continue to excel, contribute, and bring honor to the campus up to the national level. Hopefully, the fighting spirit shown by Dewa can inspire other students to not only be the best in their field, but also strive to give their best to society and the country.
