The challenges of the millennial industry dynamics and the need for human resource development amidst competition with other developed countries strongly require graduates who are skilled and professional in their fields. Similarly, the capabilities of graduates from the Vocational Program in Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology (TRKI) at UNDIP have been prepared to meet the challenges, needs, and demands of modern industry, as the demand for skilled workers increases both domestically and internationally.
Mohamad Endy Julianto S.T., M.T., as the Head of the TRKI Study Program at SV UNDIP, stated that universities are required to constantly innovate and enhance learning creativity in accordance with the needs of the global industry. Similarly, the TRKI study program has also prepared skilled and competent human resources in their field thru the revitalization of vocational higher education. The implementation of the Revitalization Program includes a dual system, teaching factory, retooling (retraining), industry practitioners, and Competency Certification Bodies (LSP). Even learning thru the development of innovations registered as patents and copyrights yields outstanding results, and its graduates are highly sought after by modern industries, Endy explained. As done by Aisyah Nuraini, a student from the Vocational TRKI Study Program at UNDIP. The student who completed this applied bachelor’s degree in TRKI, along with her Research Advisor, Mohamad Endy Yulianto, has been granted a patent for the invention “Method for Producing Hesperidin from Lime Peel thru Microwave Thermochemical Extraction” (Patent no. IDS000007235).
Aisyah stated that her research results were directed by her supervisor to be registered for a Simple Patent. This was assessed by the supervisor, who considered the topic highly promising for commercialization to industry, after reviewing the research data obtained from the Laboratory. In addition to the granted patent achievement, her research also yielded 2 intellectual property rights (IPR), including No. EC00202270527. Aisyah revealed that armed with the granted patent and IPR she possessed, she received numerous offers from industry, including PERTAMINA. Currently, Aisyah is undergoing training at PT. Pertamina Hulu Energi for the BPS (Bachelor’s/D4 Professional Guidance) position. Aisyah, who holds over 15 certificates including Awareness ISO 9001; ISO 14001; ISO 45001, Internal Auditor ISO 9001; ISO 14001; ISO 45001, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HIRADC, and other competency certificates, stated that all of this is inseparable from the learning system in the TRKI Study Program, which is to prepare skilled and competent human resources (HR) in their field thru the revitalization of vocational higher education.
The curriculum and the teaching abilities of the lecturers are very impressive; all TRKI lecturers have obtained competency certificates and assessor certificates. Likewise, the administrative staff of the TRKI program also hold various competency certificates, such as K3, Energy Audit, Chemical Analyst, and some are even assessors, concluded Aisyah.
